Who we are and how to contact us

This policy covers losaltoshillshandyman.com, the website for Handyman in the Hills, a handyman service led by Jason Ho serving the Los Altos and South Bay area. For privacy questions or requests, contact Handyman in the Hills at aliziallc@gmail.com or (650) 383-8799.

Information we receive and why

When you call or email us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, service address and the nature of your request. We use it to answer enquiries, arrange services, manage membership and maintain relevant business records. Please do not send sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

The website’s hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, access time and security-related activity to deliver the website, diagnose faults and protect it against misuse. These necessary operations are separate from optional visitor analytics.

Your choice about analytics

To apply the correct analytics default before Google loads, this site can request an existing Cloudflare country diagnostic from www.losaltoshillshandyman.com. Cloudflare receives the technical connection information needed to answer it. The site reads a country code in memory and does not save a geolocation cookie or send the diagnostic response to Google. IP-based country detection is approximate; a VPN can affect the observed country. Missing, conflicting or failed results and recognised Cloudflare tunnel signals keep analytics opt-in. This regional check is skipped when a saved analytics choice already exists or Global Privacy Control prevents automatic startup.

On eligible United States visits, ordinary website analytics may start without prior opt-in. Use Reject or Privacy settings to turn it off. Where prior consent is required, and whenever we cannot determine an eligible region, analytics remains off until you allow it. A saved rejection always takes priority over a regional default. Advertising remains off. Your choice does not prevent using the site, calling us or opening VIP checkout.

You can later reopen the persistent Privacy settings control and turn Analytics off. Saving that change disables further measurement, removes this property’s Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop the previously loaded analytics script. Withdrawal does not automatically erase information already received by Google; contact us about requests concerning that information.

What optional Google Analytics measures

When enabled, Google Analytics measures page visits and clicks on phone and VIP membership links. A phone or VIP click records interest only; it does not confirm a call, payment or purchase. Our measurement events do not include phone numbers, email addresses, form contents, link text, Stripe link destinations or private URL parameters. Page addresses supplied by our configuration are limited to a fixed public website address.

Google Analytics also processes browser-generated technical information and cookie identifiers. A connection to Google exposes your IP address to Google; we do not describe analytics as anonymous. Advertising tags, Google signals and ad personalization are disabled in this setup. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from websites using its services.

Cookies and browser storage

Essential consent preferences are stored locally in your browser by Silktide Consent Manager, using keys beginning stcm.lahh.. These preferences remain until replaced or cleared by you or your browser. Silktide’s consent files are served from this website; no Silktide account is needed to make a choice, and this consent setup does not send your choices to a Silktide-hosted consent database.

When analytics is enabled, Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_R654ZLFMC0 to distinguish browsers and maintain session state. Google’s default cookie lifetime is two years and may renew with activity; browser limits can shorten it. Cookie expiry is different from how long Google retains analytics records. You can delete cookies and local storage using your browser settings. Doing so may remove your saved consent preference.

WordPress may also use necessary login or security cookies when an administrator signs in. Browsing the public website does not require an administrator account.

VIP checkout and service providers

VIP membership links take you to Stripe’s checkout on a separate website. Stripe collects and processes the payment and transaction information you provide there. We may receive information needed to manage your membership, such as contact details, the selected plan and payment status. Card details are entered into Stripe’s checkout rather than a form on this website. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

Hosting, website maintenance, security, communications and payment providers may process information necessary to supply their services. Google receives analytics information only when optional analytics is permitted. Providers may process data in the United States, Poland or other countries where they operate. Their applicable privacy terms and data protection arrangements govern their processing. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to establish or defend legal claims.

Retention and security

We retain contact and service records for as long as needed to handle your enquiry or service relationship, meet applicable accounting or legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Technical logs and analytics records follow the relevant service’s retention controls; aggregate analytics reports may remain longer than detailed visitor records. Contact us if you need information about a particular record.

We use access controls and technical safeguards appropriate to operating the website and delivering services. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your requests and browser privacy signals

You may contact us to ask about your personal information or request access, correction or deletion, subject to applicable law, identity verification and records we must retain. Where privacy law gives you additional rights, you may exercise them using the contact details above. We do not require analytics consent as a condition of providing handyman services.

A Global Privacy Control signal prevents automatic regional analytics startup. You can still make an explicit choice about ordinary analytics in Privacy settings. We do not treat Do Not Track as consent. Reject and saved Analytics OFF stop this measurement. This website’s analytics setup does not use cross-site advertising tags. Third-party websites opened from our links have their own privacy practices.

Children and policy changes

This website and its services are intended for adults arranging property maintenance, not for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can investigate.

We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be explained on this page and, where appropriate, through an additional notice. Changes do not override your saved privacy choice or remove consent requirements that apply to you.
